The US-DOE has put together a site with information on fossil energy.

Concern and much hype about Global Warming due to combustion of fossil energy has prompted a USA high school debate of the topic. Students will be arguing the merits of alternative fuels during competitions. One source of information is the Oklahoma Energy Resources Board, OERB which has worked with debate coaches and the energy industry to make sure students have access to some of the facts on oil and natural gas. The basic arguments presented apply to the entire world, not just to the USA. Students in other countries have to do additional research to develop the statistics for their country. One of the 1997-98 debate topics is: "Resolve that the USA federal government should establish a policy to substantially increase renewable energy use in the United States." Oil and natural gas as non-renewable energy will be center stage in the debate. The OERB web site www.oerb.com provides volumes of research in support of oil and natural gas which can be downloaded for free as part of a students research of the topic.
